Reduce number of mails being sent

Post by ianoliver » Thu Apr 04, 2013 6:29 pm

Hi there,

I have used the block size and stepping to reduce the number of emails being sent in an hour, however it is still sending more than what the setting is set at. Any idea's I have tried several different sizes and stepping amounts, and I am assuming blocksize refers to the number of emails.

"block size" defines the amount of mails which are dispatched to Sendmail for email distribution. "stepping" defines the number of minutes between dispatching two blocks to Sendmail.

Is there a way to pause and resume a mailing without stopping OpenEMM (running on windows, sorry). I don't want to stop open emm as this will effect the ability for recipients unsubscribe and also track links etc for those who have already received emails and may be opening them whilst the system is stopped! Thanks in advance

You could tweak Sendmail to influence the sending performance. Have a look at section 9.3 of the Install & Admin Guide.
