you have your answer by now, but try sending small amounts and letting your server rest a little like sending 500 and resting 1 minute to avoid creating a bottleneck at your server

Just modify max_allowed_packet in mysql and attachment.maxSize according to your need and then copy and paste your webpage html into body of message

Ok i have a vps, and in /etc/my.cnf file theres nothing about max_allowed_packet, what i did and work is added it under [mysqld] last parameter i found, so if somebody have this situation, and dont find anything to modify, just add it!
